FULL TIME COURSE AUDITION PROCESS

Entry to the Academy is by audition only, with acceptance based upon the personal ability and potential of each applicant. Candidates must be aged sixteen or over on or before the first of September of the year they wish to start training.


Candidates will be required to demonstrate their ability by performing one prepared piece, from each of the categories listed below.

DANCE: 
Choose from Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz or contemporary (if you wish to show a different style please inform us before your audition). Music must be  recorded onto separate cds.

SONG: 
Any style. Backing music must be on separate cds (sheet music is not accepted).

DRAMA: 
Pieces must be memorized. Candidates may be asked to sight-read.

Candidates should aim to show contrasting styles.


Each piece must be a maximum of two minutes in length.

A minimum of two Academy teachers will be present during the audition.

The audition will be followed by a short interview (accompanied by a parent or guardian if under eighteen)

In certain circumstances candidates may be asked to par-take in a class style audition. 

All candidates will be informed of their result by post at the earliest opportunity and  cannot be discussed at the audition.


Application for Audition:

Candidates wishing to audition should complete the application form (download  available below) and return it to us together with a current photograph and audition fee of £15.

Upon receipt of applications The Academy shall write to advise candidates of their audition date and details plus information about our Academy open day.
